Sally Harper has been a pecan grower for the past 20 years and certified organic for the past 11 years. She also buys, shells, and markets certified organic pecans from other certified orchards in the southern New Mexico and west Texas region under the Del Valle Pecans label. Currently, Del Valle Pecans is the largest supplier of certified organic pecans in the western US. She and her late husband (Dr. Wilmer M. Harper, Agricultural Economist, NMSU ) maintained an open door policy for University based research and associated activities as well as being active in supporting organic concerns in the region. Raised in Colorado, she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Montana State University.ichard Matoian serves as Manager of the California Fig Advisory Board (CFAB), a statewide promotion group, representing the fig industry in California. Matoian is responsible for promotion and advertising efforts and consumer awareness programs domestically and internationally. Matoian also farms table grapes in a family partnership. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business from California State University, Fresno in 1984. He also maintains a Pest Control Advisor's license.
