Sam Suina is a Native American from the Pueblo of Cochiti in New Mexico. Suina currently serves as the Director of the New Mexico Tribal Extension Task Force at New Mexico State University (NMSU). The Tribal Extension project is a statewide initiative to establish 8 Tribal Extension Centers throughout New Mexico and involves the collaborative effort of NMSU, all 22 New Mexico tribes, and the three New Mexico 1994 tribal college land grant institutions.

Sam has also served in many tribal officer positions for the Pueblo of Cochiti, and is a composer of Indian songs for his people.

Formerly Sam was Director of the USDA Extension Program and the NASA Agriscience Project at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has a Ph.D. in Higher Education/Sociology from Pennsylvania State University, an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from the University of New Mexico, and a B.A. in Psychology from Fort Lewis College.
